Treating Your Bad Breath – The Myriad Causes of Bad Breath
Unfortunately, even your best friend may not tell you that you have bad breath. And that’s what makes treating your bad breath so difficult. Most people who have chronic and persistent bad breath are the last ones to really know about it. Have you ever noticed friends shying away from you when you speak? This is probably a sign that your breath stinks.
Many things can cause bad breath. It may be just one cause or a variety of causes. But when it comes right down to it, diet, certain bad habits, or even medical conditions, as well as other things can cause bad breath. If you are a person with prolonged or persistent bad breath it will behoove yourself to look into the various causes of bad breath as they might apply to you and then take action to annihilate bad breath.
Your Habits
A habit can be defined as a re-current, often unconscious pattern of behavior that is acquired through frequent repetition. Some action, internal or external usually triggers the habit response. We all have them. Some are good and some are bad like cigarette smoking,
Listen closely. A habit can be eliminated but it can take up to 28 days to get rid of it.
On the other hand, habits can be encouraged and anchored by repeating them routinely for 28 days.
Remember. Some habits are good, especially getting into the routine of flossing and brushing your teeth. Just brushing and flossing your teeth can cure many bad breath problems. It is imperative that you give your teeth a sound thrashing with your toothbrush.
Make sure that you remove any bits of food that may have lodged between your teeth or even remain in your mouth. Bacteria can flourish in you mouth because they enjoy moist, warm places where they can multiply by the thousands, if not millions. So getting rid of those sneaky bits of food by brushing and flossing it your first line of defense against bad breath.
Make it a habit
Diet Can Help
You probably know that eating certain foods can cause bad breath. You know what they are. It’s the onions and garlic that are the main culprits. Sometimes food that has not been cooked long enough can lead to bad breath. So be careful with what you put in your mouth, your friends will thank you for it later.
Decision Time
We have now discussed the myriad problems of bad breath including treating bad breath, but what it comes down to is your diet and bad habits, assuming, of course, that it is not a medical condition. If changing your diet or your habits is not effective in treating bad breath, then this may be a sign of a more serious problem. In that case, you should definitely consult a physician or a dentist.
You probably know this, but I will repeat it just to make sure; you should visit the dentist every six month or twice every year.
